Eating Disorder Treatment

Many folks are exhausted by trying to figure out how to manage and control their bodies. You may have near constant thoughts, worries, and self-criticism about food, your body, or exercise. Maybe it's difficult for you to stay present and enjoy the moment with loved ones because you are so focused on your body size, or what you should and shouldn’t eat. Maybe you've been on 50 diets. Maybe you feel like if you just need more "willpower."

It's not about "willpower," and it doesn't have to be this way.

I work with clients who are seeking treatment for the first time or who are being discharged from a higher level of care. I help people end their wars with food and their bodies and come to a place where they can let go of shame, embrace their full selves, and trust their body's wisdom.

and I said to my body. softly. “I want to be your friend.” it took a long breath. and replied, “I have been waiting my whole life for this.

I work with folks struggling with Binge Eating Disorder, Bulimia Nervosa, Anorexia Nervosa, and Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorder. However, you do not have to have a clinical diagnosis to work with me. Research demonstrates that folks with “subclinical” symptoms of eating disorders are just as distressed and struggling as those who meet clinical critiera.

You do not have to wait until you are “sick enough”- there is no criteria to measure that. If you are struggling, it’s serious. No matter what your body size, no matter how often you experience symptoms, if you would like to feel more at home in your body, therapy might be for you.

Fat positive, WEight neutral, focused on your goals

Your body will be respected and trusted here. I do not make assumptions about your symptoms based on your body size. Folks of all sizes can struggle with all symptoms of eating disorders. Body size does not determine the severity of an eating disorder, and fatphobia, thin privilege, and weight stigma all greatly impact how we relate to our bodies and how we engage in the recovery process.

Health at every size®/ intuitive eating

As you are ready, and if it aligns with your goals, we can move toward connecting with your body, how it feels, and responding to hunger, satiety, and movement. Your body can be trusted and it can be our guide.

Evidenced Based

I work from an integrative approach and utilize multiple evidence based treatments. We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy in order to give you the skills you need to build a life outside of your eating disorder.

Harm reduction

Although I will always hold hope for recovery, I understand that full recovery (however you define it!) sometimes isn’t possible or accessible, at least for the time being. Eating disorders are dangerous, life threatening illnesses, and I will work with you to manage your safety.
